Ari’s Journey to Lead Drain Technician

Ari Pacheco serves as Precision Today’s Lead Drain Technician and is about to celebrate his 6th work anniversary. Ari has had a rewarding career path in the trades while also developing a passion for sales. His journey is one of hard work, recognition, and a drive to always improve.

Q: What has your journey been at Precision Today?
A: When I started at Precision Today, I was coming from plumbing installations in the city. This was my first role where I had more interaction with homeowners, and it was also the first time I really got to try my hand at sales. I didn’t know how much I’d enjoy it, but over time, I found out that sales were something I wanted to keep pursuing. My role in drains has challenged me to learn new skills, serve customers, and find solutions, and I’ve been able to grow a lot personally and professionally.

Q: What does a typical day look like as a Drain Technician?
A: I spend most of my day problem-solving for customers, whether that’s diagnosing issues with sewer lines, clearing blockages, or recommending long-term solutions. Every call is different, but I really enjoy the variety. It keeps things interesting. No two days are exactly alike, and I like being the person customers can count on when they’re dealing with a stressful situation.

Q: What is your favorite part of the work you do here?
A: My favorite part is helping people and solving problems. There’s nothing better than walking away from a job knowing you’ve made someone’s day easier.

Q: What is your favorite part of Precision Today’s culture?
A: Our team is so supportive, and they really recognize you when you do good work. This year I was nominated for a Spotlight Award by my General Manager, Mike Borowski. He specifically said it was because of my unshakable work ethic, my competence, productivity, and that I have a consistent track record of delivering customer service excellence. For me, the award is proof that the hard work I do here doesn’t go unnoticed.

Q: How has working in Sewer & Drains helped you grow personally?
A: It’s helped me build my confidence. I never thought I’d be in sales, but this position pushed me to learn how to connect with customers and communicate clearly. It’s taught me how to work under pressure and still deliver great service.

Q: How does Precision Today help you maintain a healthy work-life balance?
Precision Today makes it possible to do the work I need to do and still enjoy my free time. I like golfing, driving my race car, and relaxing at home with video games. Having that balance makes it easier to come back to work ready to give my best.

Q: What advice would you give someone starting in this role?
A: Be open to learning and take the challenges as they come. This job can push you outside of your comfort zone, but that’s where you really grow. If you put in the work, the opportunities will come.
